“Chinese Culture Travels the World - Walk into Macau” debuts in Macau |

The “Chinese Culture Travels the World – Walk into Macau” was held at the University of Macau and other places of Macau from June 6 to 9, 2016. The event was sponsored by Nam Kwong Group jointly with the Counselors’ Office of the State Council, the Central Research Institute of Culture and History, and Macau Economic Service, and organized by CIEC (Macau) International Convention and Exhibition Co., Ltd. The “Chinese Culture Travels the World” is a brand campaign of the Counselors’ Office of the State Council, aimed at exploring the resources of different regions, promoting local cultural development, carrying on and spreading traditional culture, and boosting exchanges on and innovation in traditional culture. The activities have won applause from the academic community, the arts community, young students, and the public. The Macau leg of the campaign kicked off at the University of Macau on June 6. Xu Kaicheng, Chairman of Nam Kwong Group, presided over the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. President Duan Hongyi attended the opening ceremony of the exquisite painting and calligraphy exhibition at The Venetian Macau. Guests present at the “Chinese Culture Travels the World - Walk into Macau” activities included about 110 staff members of the Central Research Institute of Culture and History and 32 local research institutes. The five-day event featured brilliant activities embedded with high cultural value. Three distinguished guests were invited to give lectures at several universities of Macau. Professor Chen Lai, a master of Chinese culture, delivered a lecture on the philosophical foundation of Chinese culture at the University of Macau; Fan Jinshi, hailed “daughter of Dunhuang”, gave a lecture titled “Mogao Grottoes and their Cultural Value” at Macau University of Science and Technology; and Guo Yicong, a famous flower-and-bird painting artist, gave a lecture on the good traditions and contemporary development of Chinese flower-and-bird painting at Macau Polytechnic Institute. From June 6 to 9, the exquisite painting and calligraphy exhibition and seminar were held at The Venetian Macau. More than 150 works created by the staff of the central and local research institutes and young artists were exhibited, presenting a high-end cultural and artistic feast to the visitors. Through organizing cultural and art activities, Nam Kwong Culture and Creativity Industry Co. Ltd. (NKCCI) has made foray into the fields of culture and arts, and opened up new space for the development of its convention and exhibition business.
