The 1st China (Macau) Automotive and Shipping Equipment Fair kicked off at the Fisherman’s Wharf on June 2, 2016. It was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organized by the MOFCOM Trade Development Bureau jointly with China National Automotive Industry International Cooperation Co., Ltd. (Auto China) and Nam Kwong International Conference & Exhibition Co., Ltd., with support from the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute. Rong Tao, Vice President of Nam Kwong Group, Jin Hong, Deputy Director of the MOFCOM Trade Development Bureau, and Han Xiaojun, President of Auto China, spoke at the opening ceremony. The Automotive and Shipping Equipment Fair has relied on the automotive equipment industry in China and abroad and made full use of the huge potential market resources in the Asia-Pacific region. Through Macau’s exhibition business service platform, the fair has given full play to the new trade development models of “Promote China’s Manufacturing to Go Global” and “Bring Foreign Products in”. While boosting the export business of small and medium-sized enterprises, it can also scale up imports and facilitate the access of China’s automotive and shipping equipment to the global procurement system. By holding the fair, Nam Kwong Group has actively participated in international exchanges and cooperation, and play an important role in connecting China’s automobile industry with the global market and making China an automobile superpower. Other guests of honor at the opening ceremony included Lau Kwan Wah, Executive Member of the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), Chen Xiang, Chief of Economic Division of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, Jia Jinglong, Deputy Director of the Transport Bureau of Macau, Zhang Jie, Coordinator of the Executive Office of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, Gong Youying, Director of Economic Division of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, Song Xiaodong, Assistant President of Nam Kwong Group, and Zhang Fusheng, Chairman of Auto China. The equipment fair will last three days. It covers an exhibition area of 6,000m2, and includes the exhibition, high-level forums, and interactive activities with the public. The fair brings together nearly 200 enterprises and trade associations from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Brazil, Portugal and elsewhere, and attracts nearly 500 purchasing groups. Three high-level forums including the forum on trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, forum on the automotive aftermarket in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, and the Guangdong-Macau yacht business salon are to be held, an embodiment of the “Fair-and-Meeting Integration” effect.
