From August 25 to 27, 2017, "Macao Galaxy CEC2017 China E-Sports Carnival" was held at Galaxy Theater, Broadway Macao. It was hosted by the Sports Information Center of the State General Sports Administration of China, co-sponsored by the Macao Electronic Competition Association, and hosted by China United Travel?Co. Ltd., with support from NKCCCI. It was the first state-level E-sports event in Macao.

As a co-organizer of this event, NKCCI played an important role from the overall planning to the implementation of the plan. Due to the relentless typhoon "Heavenly Dove" during the preparation phase, the whole project was forced to suspend due to the cut-off of power and water supply in the city. The staff trapped at the scene were at their wit’s end. Still they had to ensure on-site safety despite the suffocating heat; they waited for the restoration of power supply, ready to work at any time. After the blackout for a good 22 hours, the power supply was restored. All staff stepped up efforts to work around the clock, trying to catch up. Finally, all hardships were overcome thanks to the concerted efforts of all relevant parties, and the event was beamed through three live broadcast platforms in the Chinese mainland, which manifested that Macao has the capacity to host national events.

Under the guidance of Nam Kwong Group, NKCCI shoulders the important mission of promoting the development of local cultural and creative industry. Through such efforts, the state-level brand event has been introduced to Macao to promote the development of emerging cultural projects and enhance the locals’ understanding of and interest in E-sports, and to boost diversification, internationalization and specialization of the local industry.
