2019 Macao Business Aviation Exhibition wraps up |

The eighth Macao Business Aviation Exhibition jointly sponsored by Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited, China Aviation Supplies Holding Company and Macao Convention and Exhibition Association, organized by Nam Kwong International Convention and Exhibition Ltd. and China Civil Aviation Technology and Equipment Co., Ltd, and supported by the government of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was held on the north of the hanger at the Macao International Airport from November 1 to 3, 2019. Covering an area of 22,000 square meters, the exhibition showcased nine internationally popular business jets and gathered foreign and domestic companies along the industrial chain. They included business jet manufacturers, rental agencies, jet refitting companies, interior design institutions, financing companies, maintenance service providers, general aviation airport, second-hand aircrafts dealers, operators, aircraft asset management companies, fixed-base operation (FBO) and business flight service providers. Gulfstream G280, G450, G500 and G650ER, Bombardier Global 6000, Global 7500, Challenger 350, Challenger 850 and F8X were on static display, which covered basically all main business jet models around the world. The exhibition also highlighted the debut of Gulfstream G500 and G650ER as well as Bombardier Global 7500. Singapore-based aviation operator Ojets came to cheer for the exhibition with a debut of its Bombardier Global 6000.The latest development and the highest level of current business jets manufacturing, operation and service were fully demonstrated at the exhibition. In addition, it hosted many sideline events including forums, FBO visits and cocktail party for business promotion, exhibitor promotion, a welcoming reception and the “Future Day” event for popularizing science knowledge. The three-day exhibition attracted as many as 10,000 visitors. Among guests attending the opening ceremony were Liu Guanhua, representative of the Financial Services Bureau of the Macao SAR, Zhang Jianhua, Deputy Director of the Economic Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Cheng Kun, representative of the equipment department of the MIIT, Leong On Kei, member of the Legislative Council of Macao, Chen Weng Hong, president of Civil Aviation Authority of the Macao SAR, Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Tourist Office of Macao SAR, Chen Zihui, Deputy Director of the Financial Department, Fu Jianguo, Chairman of Board of Nam Kwong, Yang Xiaoming, General Manager of China Aviation Supplies Holding Company, Wang Lei, Vice Mayor of Haikou Municipal People’s Government, Feng Ruomei, director of school management and administration department of the Education and Youth Bureau of the Macao SAR, Hu Hanxin, director of the logistics and general aviation development department of Macao International Airport Co. Ltd., Jean-Michel Jacob, Asia Pacific Manager of Dassault Falcon Jet, Peter Hoi, regional deputy director of Gulfstream Aerospace, Yu Yubin, regional vice president of the Greater China of Bombardier Inc. and Jolie Howard, CEO of TAG Aviation. Chen Weng Hong, president of Civil Aviation Authority of the Macao SAR, addressed the ceremony. Yang Xiaoming, General Manager of China Aviation Supplies Holding Company, made a welcoming speech at the theme forum of the exhibition, and Rocky Zhang, Vice-Chairman of the Asian Business Aviation Association addressed the opening ceremony. Revolving around the topics of business jet FBO management and sharing at the Greater Bay Area and the opportunities and challenges for business aviation as China transforms its economic structure, close to 100 attendees representing business jet manufacturers, operators, maintenance service providers, companies, associations and academic institutions discussed the latest industry development and exchanged their views on how to build a financial service circle targeting for serving the world-level Greater Bay Area, give full play to the unique economic strengths of the area and build a business aviation ecology with distinctive regional characteristics. Hong Yunsheng from the Asian Sky Group wrapped up the forum with his analysis on the guideline for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area released by the State Council this year. He expressed support to re-building and expansion of Macao airport and the development of business aviation so that it will emerge as a regional hub for business aviation. “Future Day” was a sideline event, the first of its kind hosted by the exhibition. As a charitable event in the aviation sector, it paid tribute to the 20th anniversary of the return of Macao to the People’s Republic of China. Professionals from the business aviation and general aviation areas were invited to share their insightful views on the development of business aviation, potential for innovation on future urban aerial transportation and China’s technological standing in commercial aviation. With the theme of “New Technology, New Transportation and New Career,” the event aimed to inspire the young generation to seek diverse career development in the general aviation sector and particularly boost exchanges on aerospace among the youth from Macao, Zhuhai and Hong Kong. Speakers explained the operation of business aviation industry, private jets, opportunities for innovation on infrastructure of urban aerial transportation and the growth of China’s business aviation, the combination of aviation and aerospace technologies, boosting effects on global aerospace technological advancement and economic cooperation, and influence on urban construction. These enabled the public to better understand the history and latest development of the business aviation sector. With efforts made during the past eight events, Macao Business Aviation Exhibition had emerged as the largest and most professional trade fair for business jets in Macao. It also attracted the most business jets for display. In September 2016, the exhibition was accredited by the UFI, which drew close attention of business elites across the strait, especially those from the Pearl River Delta area, Hong Kong,, Macao and neighboring region. The hosting of the event boosted the business aviation, convention and business tourism industry and related service sectors in Macao.
