The 7th China (Macau) International Yacht Import & Export Fair opens

The yacht show serves as a platform for maritime leisure travel

 

Macao Daily News - 2017 China (Macau) International Yacht Import & Export Fair opened yesterday. This yacht show, the biggest one ever, covered a wide scope and involved lots of brands. Marine and Water Bureau Head Huang Suiwen said that the fair has set up a platform for trade, cooperation and exchange of the international yacht industry, may help the yachting industry of Macao follow closely the development of maritime leisure travel of Macao, and make contributions to building the city into a world travel and leisure center.

 Improving the environment and supporting facilities

Yesterday, the opening ceremony of the yacht show was held at Macau Fisherman's Wharf at 18:00. Secretary for Economy and Finance Leong Vai Tac, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council Deputy Secretary General Peng Huagang, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R. Economic Services Head Liu Bin, Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce Director General Sun Chenghai, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Equipment Industry Department Deputy Director General Qu Guochun, Board of Supervisors of Key and Large State-owned Enterprises Former Chairman Jia Chengbing, Former Vice Minister of Commerce, China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation President Xu Bingjin, China Machinery Industry Federation Executive President Zhang Kelin, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute President Zhang Zurong, Marine and Water Bureau Head Huang Suiwen, Macao Government Tourism Office Wen Qihua, Representative of Macao Economic Services Head Chen Zihui, Representative of Macao Transport Affairs Jia Jinglong, NAM Kwong Group Company Limited Chairman Fu Jianguo, China Aviation Supplies Holding Company Chairman and Party Secretary Jia Baojun, China National Machinery Industry Corporation Vice President Ding Hongxiang, Macao Convention & Exhibition Association President and NAM Kwong Group Company Limited President Duan Hongyi, and Macau Legend Development Ltd. Executive Director Zhou presided over the toast ceremony.

 Huang Suiwen made a speech, saying that the yacht industry, as an important part of the maritime tourism industry, represents the direction of the moderately diversified development of the economy of Macao. He said that the Macao SAR government will take the opportunities of Guangdong-Hong Kong cooperation actively, communicate and cooperate with the Guangdong side closely, further refine and improve yacht-related entry & exit policy systems, management mechanisms and operation specifications, and promote policy implementation. He said that the government will improve local supporting facilities of yacht at an appropriate time and in a sustained way, give play to the advantages of local tourism characteristics, assist the yacht industry in taking an active part in the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Free Yacht Tour” on the basis of the development of the program of “Guangdong-Macao Free Yacht Tour”, so as to enrich the contents of regional tourism cooperation, play a positive role in developing the marine economy of Macao, and create favorable conditions for building Macao into a “world travel & leisure center”.

Extremely luxurious yacht

The yacht show, the biggest one ever, covered a wide scope and involved lots of brands. Sunseeker exhibited, for the first time, a 44m-long extremely luxurious yacht with three spacious decks and a capacity of over 20 persons. As a new highlight of the yacht show, the “China Yacht Manufacturer Team” consisting of a dozen of yacht manufacturers from Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangsu and Zhejiang attended the show, and the Maxi?110-foot ocean vessel visited Macao for the first time.

 In addition, forums and conferences including “Forum on Special Zone of Pingsha Yacht Manufacture Industrial Park in Guangdong-Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area”, “3rd Macao Yacht Industry Summit and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Special Summit” and “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Yacht Industry Exchange Meeting” were held in the same period. Nearly 1,000 professional buyers from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Southeast Asian countries and Portuguese-speaking countries were invited for business discussions and communications at the forums and conferences, which aim to promote Macao’s yachting development and develop a sound yachting industrial chain in Macao and its neighboring areas by virtue of the geographical advantages and favorable tax exemption conditions of the city.
