The Sixth China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition opens

Over 100 brands gather at Macau Auto Show

[Macau Daily] The Sixth China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition (Macau Auto Show) jointly organized by Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited, China National Machinery Industry Corporation and Macau Convention & Exhibition Association was held at Macau Venetian Cotai Convention and Exhibition Center for three consecutive days since yesterday. This exhibition attracted 100 well-known car brands and enterprises from 20 countries and regions, with nearly 400 new cars exhibited.

The guests of honor at the opening ceremony were: Chen Haifan, Acting Chief Executive of Macau SAR; Wang Zhimin, Director of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR; Wang Wenbin, Deputy Director of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC); Ye Dabo, Commissioner of Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in Macau SAR; Yao Jian, Deputy Director of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR; Lau Kwan Wah, representative from the Secretariat for Economy and Finance; Cao Gang, Deputy Director of Equipment Industry Division of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT); Jia Chengbing, former Chairman of Board of Supervisors of Large Enterprises of SASAC; Xu Bingjin, former Vice Minister of Commerce and President of China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation; Zhang Kelin, Executive Vice President of China Machinery Industry Federation; Wang Xindong, Secretary General of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR; Wen Qihua, Director of Macau Government Tourism Office; Liu Weiming, Representative of Director of Economic Services of Macau Government; Wang Yingwei, CEO of Sands China Ltd.; as well as organizer representatives including Ren Hongbin, Chairman of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach); Jia Baojun, Party Secretary of and Vice President of China Aviation Supplies Holding Company; Xu Kaicheng, Chairman of Nam Kwong Group; Ding Rongxiang, Vice Chairman of Nam Kwong Group; Duan Hongyi, President of Macau Convention & Exhibition Association and President of Nam Kwong Group; and Ding Hongxiang, Vice President of Sinomach.

The Most Professional Auto Show in Hong Kong and Macau

Wang Wenbin pointed out that, the Macau Auto Show is one of the Top 10 International Brand Exhibitions in Macau. With joint efforts of all parties, after five sessions of cultivation and development, it has become the professional auto exhibition with largest exhibition area and most admissions in Hong Kong & Macau, and an important international window to show China's self-owned brand automobile. Since its inception, Macau Auto Show has made full use of the role of Macau as the trade cooperation service platform for China and Portuguese-speaking countries, effectively taken advantage of the location of Macau which radiates Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Pearl River Delta and the European Union, and actively helped the exhibitors to enhance their brand publicity and expand their overseas markets, which played an important part in shaping and improving China's home-made automobile brand images and promoting “Made in China” to go global, and also produced positive effects on improving the overall level of the conference and exhibition industry of Macau, and promoting the economic and social development of Macau.

The central government attaches great importance to Macau's economic and social development and long-term stability, and Macau Auto Expo is an important measure to implement the decision and deployment. It is hoped that central enterprises will take this expo as an opportunity to exert their advantages to fully support the Macau SAR Government in developing economy and improving people's livelihood, deepen and promote economic and trade cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Macau, and play a leading role in promoting economic and social development in Macau. In the meantime, it is hoped that relevant departments of the Macau SAR Government will, as always, support the reform and development of state-owned enterprises in Macau and help them increase capacities and business scale, thus making greater contribution to safeguarding Macau's long-term prosperity and stability.

Witnessing the Development of the Conference and Exhibition Industry

Liu Guanhua said that, the internationalization and influence of Macau Auto Show were constantly enhanced and the exhibition concept and mode were continuously innovated, reflecting the development of the conference?and exhibition industry in Macau. With the support of the Central People's Government of the PRC, the Macau SAR Government has been committed to promoting the healthy development of the exhibition industry, and actively creates conditions to attract more professional exhibitions to Macau, and improves its supporting service capabilities from aspects of city environment, hardware facilities, traffic convenience, etc. It is believed that through the conference and exhibition platform, the role of Macau as a bridge and link in China's external exchanges will been further demonstrated.
