 Macao Business Aviation Fair exhibits 12 types of mainstream airplanes

 Macao Daily News - The 6th Macau Business Aviation Fair was held at Macau International Airport. With an exhibition area of 22,000 square meters, the fair displayed 12 types of international mainstream airplanes. The number of exhibited airplanes and exhibitors exceeded that of the previous business aviation fair, and most airplanes appeared for the first time in the Greater China Region. Macao Civil Aviation Authority Chen Yingxiong noted that, during the first three seasons of this year, the airport throughput of business aircrafts in Macao reached 1,590, up 11.4% over the same period last year. As the Macao SAR government actively promotes the travel industry of Macao, it is believed that the number of hi-end customers will continue to rise and the city is expected to see a rosy prospect of business aviation.

 Expand the berths by improving the parking aprons

 The opening ceremony of Macao Business Aviation Fair was held at Macau International Airport at 17:00PM. Present at the opening ceremony were Secretary for Economy and Finance Leong Vai Tac, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R. Deputy Director Yao Jian, SASAC Deputy Secretary General Peng Huagang, Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce Director General Sun Chenghai, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Equipment Industry Department Deputy Director General Qu Guochun, Ministry of Commerce Former Vice Minister and China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation President Xu Bingjin, China Machinery Industry Federation Executive President Zhang Kelin, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute President Zhang Zurong, Macao Civil Aviation Authority Head Chen Yingxiong, Macao Monetary Authority Chairman Chen Shouxin, and Macao Government Tourism Office Head Wen Qihua.

Chen Yingxiong said that, 1,210 business aircrafts took off and landed at Macao International Airport in 2012, and the number rose to 2,026 in 2016, up 67.4%. In recent years, in order to improve the facilities of business aviation, the construction of a new hangar for business aircrafts has been started at the airport so as to meet the requirements on parking and repair of business aircrafts, relevant constructions have now been completed and the new facilities are expected to be put into operation in 2018. In addition, the parking aprons in the south of the airport have been improved to make room for parking of business aircrafts. All of the above measures were to further improve the transportation conditions of business aviation. In addition, during the first phase of the overall development planning of Macau International Airport, relevant facilities of business aviation will be extended so as to ensure that local airline business better meets the requirements of the economic development of the city.

 Besides the zone for static exhibition of business aircraft parking aprons at the site, there were 25 display zones for exhibitors, covering repair, trusteeship, refit, leasing and finance of business aircrafts. The fair aims to build a one-stop integrated solution platform ranging from purchase, financing, leasing, trusteeship, repair and operation of business aircraft to transaction of second-hand business aircrafts.
