Macau Yacht Fair opens

[Macaodaily] The opening ceremony of "The Sixth China (Macau) International Yacht Import and Export Fair" organized by Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited, Macau Convention & Exhibition Association, and China National Machinery Industry Corporation was held yesterday at Macau Fisherman's Wharf. Cao Cide, Acting Director of Maritime and Water Bureau, said, the preparation work for Macau-Zhongshan free yacht travel has entered the final stage. The implementation of the project will facilitate the diversification of Macau’s leisure industry, promote the synergistic effect of the Pearl River Delta tourism industry, create new opportunities for regional cooperation, and broaden the scope of cooperation for yacht and marine tourism industry in local and surrounding areas.

Seizing the Opportunity Brought by the “Yacht Free Travel” Policy

The opening ceremony was held in Rocks Hotel at 6pm yesterday. The guests of honor were: Wang Wenbin, Vice Chairman of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; Yao Jian, Deputy Director of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR; Li Nan, Director of Department of Public Diplomacy and Information of Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macau and Ye Dabo, Commissioner of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macau; Zhang Zurong, President of Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute; Lionel Leong Vai Tac, Director of Secretariat for Economy and Finance; Cao Gang, Inspector of Equipment Industry Division of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT); Jia Chengbin, former Chairman of Board of Supervisors of Large Enterprises of SASAC; Xu Bingjin, former Vice Minister of Commerce and President of China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation; Zhang Kelin, Executive Vice President of China Machinery Industry Federation; Cao Cide, Deputy Director of Marine and Water Bureau of Macau; Wen Qihua, Director of Macau Government Tourism Office; Liu Weiming, Deputy Director of Economic Services of Macau Government; Xu Kaicheng, Chairman of Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited; Ding Rongxian, Vice Chairman of Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited; Ren Hongbin, Chairman of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach); Jia Baojun, Party Secretary and Vice President of China Aviation Supplies Holding Company; Duan Hongyi, President of Macau Convention & Exhibition Association and President of Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited; Zhou Jinhui, member of the CPPCC National Committee and Co-Chair of Macau Legend Development Ltd.

Innovating the Mode of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macau

The "yacht free travel" between Macau and Zhongshan is a new attempt of cooperation between Guangdong and Macau, and the innovative cooperation mode plays an important exemplary role. All the time, Guangdong and Macau have maintained close cooperation, communication and coordination, actively carried out a great deal of promotion work, gradually implemented various detailed measures and standards of the "yacht free travel", and devote to improving the supporting and operating plans. Last week, Macau-Zhongshan yacht made its free travel trial, conducting field test on procedures for yachts going in and out of each other's wharf and the entry and exit of personnel. At present, related hardware and software facilities of the two places are basically complete, and the supporting projects of Macau-Zhongshan "yacht free travel" are launched.

This yacht show covered over thirty yacht brands, and the highlight yacht models include: Ferretti 87ft, Pershing 70, particularly China-made MAXI 110. In addition, there were small sailing boats, power boats, motor boats and other water sports equipment.

The Second (Macau) High-level Conference and Forum of the Development of the Yacht Industry on the theme of "big ocean era" would be held in Harbourview Hotel on November 5, 2016, and it would explore the sustainable development of the yacht industry under new circumstances around five issues including "the development of the marine industry in Macau". Macau Yacht Fair has invited players of the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to participate in the teenager OP sailing contest in Macau.
